Solar Power Stands Out From Renewable Energies

Solar Power Stands Out From Renewable Energies

Will you be a little familiar with solar power? As a new and powerful renewable energy, it works on providing human renewable energy source and solving human survival issues fiercely. Just to refine the definition, what is solar power?

What is a solar power?

We get the solar power from the Sun. The nature provides human beings some powerful energies, some of them are nonrenewable and others are renewable. Fortunately, solar power is the former. And we recognized that how to find it, store it and then we get it converted electric current.

Actually, it gets through a complete circuit to finish the energy conversion. In fact, the solar charger can’t be used directly, there is a conversion of sunlight into electricity before it turns into renewable energy solar, either directly using photovoltaics (PV), or indirectly using concentrated solar power (CSP). Concentrated solar power systems use lenses or mirrors and tracking systems to focus a large area of sunlight into a small beam. Photovoltaics convert light into an electric current using the photovoltaic effect.

How is solar energy converted into electricity? A picture will show how solar power works.

Advantages and disadvantages of solar energy

Pro: Power supply , environmentally friendly, low cost, new solar inventions

Considered as ‘Renewable Energy’, the solar power contains renewable resource, the sun light, which means once human beings acquire the skills about how to use the solar power that means it will work for us in following year constantly. Solar power is the power supply, renewable energy

In the conversion from sun light to electricity, there is no worry to consider it will cause some pollution. Recently, air pollutants, noise pollution and water pollution throw critical threats to the earth and humans are facing survive issues. At this moment, solar power, as renewable energies, reliefs the immediate sense of crisis of humans.environmentally friendly, solar power avoid to cause pollution

Purchasing electricity directly is costly and area limited. In remote areas, solar power can be used instead of electricity power that saves more extra investment for rural infrastructure construction.

solar power is low cost

Smartphone-addicts try to plug their devices in everywhere they can see, so that’s why power banks come into people’s daily life. But, what should do when the portable power bank is out of power without a portable charger? Hence it, people invented portable solar charger which contains a square of solar panel and an output port. Use the lightweight and folded solar panel as sun light receiver, the solar panel can feed juice to different electronic devices for portability. Especially, the solar panel will be universal once its output port is featured with Smart technology which can detect your device, and output the exact amount of currents your devices may require.solar panel is a new invention about solar power

Con: Time limitation, High cost collectors, area limitation, heavy as a hulk

As mentioned previous, solar energy is converted from sun light energy, whenever the Sun disappears, the solar power vanishes too. Therefore, it can only be harnessed when it is daytime and sunny. It’s a fatal limitation to solar power, although it is a renewable energy, humans can’t have the conversion all the time.

solar power has time limitation

There are two kind of solar power collectors, solar panels and solar cells. Although the solar power is free to us, sun light collectors are relatively expensive to manufacture although prices are falling rapidly. It’s easy to find that a 2 fold/ 4 fold solar panel charger is much expensive than a normal power bank. It’s really worthwhile.

In countries such as the UK, the unreliable climate means that solar energy is also unreliable as a source of energy. Cloudy skies reduce its effectiveness. Large areas of land are required to capture the suns energy. Collectors are usually arranged together especially when electricity is to be produced and used in the same location.

unreliable climate kills solar power

Solar power is used to charge batteries so that solar powered devices can be used at night. However, the batteries are large and heavy and need storage space. So new solar panels come out to daily life and manufactures aim to minimize the product size and weight for portability.

Solar panel collector are heavy as hulks.

There is a prediction that by 2050, solar photovoltaics and concentrated solar power would contribute about 16 and 11 percent, respectively, of the worldwide electricity consumption, and solar would be the world’s largest source of electricity. Before it come into your family for providing power to all household appliances or handy portable smart devices, read this article about the solar power.

  1. I love the idea of Solar Power, but as we don’t really get much sun in the UK, I worry that during winter, we won’t get sufficient electricity.

  2. I like the idea of solar power because it’s good to explore and use the different resources available to make power with. In my opinion, it’s not good to as they say “put all your eggs in one basket” and solar power is definitely useful and hopefully overall more friendly to the environment. I think the best thing about using solar power is that it is renewable. The downside is that when factoring in it’s impact on our environment, the manufacturing of the solar panel, cells and products themselves also need to be taken into factor to get a more comprehensive picture of how friendly to our environment solar energy actually is.

  3. Currently I am wondering what altitude changes is the capabilities of solar charging.
Looks may be deceiving, but living in the Italian Alps seems more productive regarding solar energy.
keeping a diary, time will tell.

  4. This is a really great alternative to the traditional chargers and it’s the future in this market.
They just need to evolve this technology a lot more to be more compact, save more energy and be more efficient.

  5. I know a lot more than I previously knew about this technology.
Really hope this becomes a standard and a great way to charge every device quickly and better than ever 😀

  6. I did not know all of this about Solar Chargers. I have had one on my wish list for quite some time now. I think I need to just purchase a couple of these – especially considering the amount of hiking and camp outs are in my future as a Cub Scout mom. Thanks so much!

  7. I love that it’s enviromentaly friendly!! I could set it in a lawn chair out in my back yard and it will completely charge in 5 hours. I live in a city that is prone to hurricanes and the power goes out for weeks. This charger would come in handy HERE.

  8. After reading this article that contains useful and important informations I learned a lot. Thanks.

  9. This is a really worthy to read explanation of the process.
I learned a lot more about solar energy with this 😉

  10. I really like the idea of solar charging. I actually learned there are many other solar powered things, such as the solar stove which will mosl likely be used in 3rd world countries. I always liked the idea of solar enery because of the decrease in pollution of air,

  11. I’ve always wanted a good solar charger for camping, festivals, travelling etc. Great products!

  12. This would be so awesome when your going to the beach never having to worry about going back to the cabin to charge anything

  13. This seems like a great product especially after reading the article. This is definitely one of the better solar chargers I have seen around.

  14. hope i win something with the giveaway. it looks like a good product and good for the economics

  15. Seems to be pretty useful and eco friendly! I have a some devices that I need to charge on the go! It would be awesome to own one.

  16. I’m a fan of Solar, and it will be a true contender when the efficiency gets high enough.
