Rumors about Samsung planning to release a second-generation Galaxy Fold have been around for months. As reported, the Galaxy Fold 2 will be quite large, coming in at 7.59 inches. New exciting features will be added, including the 120Hz high refresh rate and 5G connectivity. Additionally, the phone will have the same features as other galaxy phones, such as the same camera system as the Galaxy S20 Plus and an S pen. Coming with the rumors about the S pen is the secure UTG (Ultra Thin Glass) on the new device. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip has already been added with UTG, but more than that, it also has a plastic layer on top of it for protection. The Fold 2 may follow suit, but considering the existence of S pen, it’s more likely and quite important that Samsung is probing additional suppliers for such glass. Not only because it will add more quality to the phone, but because the S pen needs a rather solid display.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 is rumored to launch in Q3, together with the Galaxy Note 20. That makes sense, as the Galaxy Fold was released with the Galaxy S10, and the Galaxy Z Flip showed up with the Galaxy S20. If the Fold 2 does come with an S Pen, it is probably that the stylus will be the same as that on the Note 20. Many people will be glad to see their dream come true that a tablet-like foldable device finally has S Pen support.
