Google’s latest Pixel 7 series include two new models: Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. Both the phones come with modest upgrade over the predecessors, but thanks to Google’s latest SoC, they have some new features and more powerful than ever. At the same time, however, you may be wondering if the good old features like 3.5mm headphone jack and IR blaster are kept. In this essay we’ll explain and discuss about this further.

Does Pixel 7/7 Pro have 3.5mm headphone jack?
The short answer is: no. Neither the Pixel 7 model supports 3.5mm headphone jack. Ever since Apple removed the headphone jack on iPhone 7 in 2016, more and more manufacturers follow suit. And it’s no surprise one of the largest company Google ditched the port on its most recent smartphones.
If you haven’t had a new phone for five years, you are probably used to listening to podcast, music or video via 3.5mm wired headphones. But don’t worry, you can still continue the habit by connecting a 3.5mm to USB-C dongle with your Pixel phone and the other end to your old headphones. Google doesn’t add a dongle in the box, so you have to buy one separately. Kindly note that now there’s only one port for both audio transfer and charging, you have to get at least a 2-in-1 adapter to do the two simultaneously.

The other solution is to use wireless headphones. If you don’t have a pair yet, Google’s Pixel Buds Pro would be one of the best choice, and they absolutely work well with Pixel phones. For those who highly value convenience, it’s also an option to directly invest in USB-C headphones.
