Announced at Apple’s September event, the AirPods Pro 2 delivers an upgraded H2 processor, better ANC, updated touch controls and more. It is an excellent companion for your iPhone or iPad, but sometimes it may happen that you want to go for a running without your iPhone but still listen to the music during workout. Can you control the AirPods Pro 2 with your Apple Watch Series 8? Of course you can, and it only takes a few steps.
Thanks to the powerful H2 processor, the AirPods Pro 2 now offers faster pairing process. First, on your Apple Watch Series 8, open Settings, then go to Bluetooth. You will see a button for any nearby Bluetooth accessories. Hold your AirPods Pro 2 with the lid open, and press the button on the back for pairing mode. After that, you’ll locate your AirPods in the Bluetooth accessories list, then select them. On the AirPods, you’ll hear the sound when the connection is made.
If you can see the AirPods Pro 2 in the Bluetooth area of your Settings but have no connection, tap Forget This Device and repeat the pairing process as above.
For your AirPods Pro 2 to do any music streaming if you decide to leave your iPhone in the car at the gym, you may need a Wi-Fi connection, or you should download music onto your Apple Watch ahead of time, considering that the Apple Watch Series 8 comes with 32GB of storage. Simply go to the Watch app on your iPhone, tap MyWatch>Music. The easiest way to add music is to toggle on Recent Music so that you can reach the music you have listened to recently. If you want to add particular music, tap Add Music>Playlist>Artists>Albums. Tap the plus (+) icon in the top right to add all the songs on that screen to your Apple Watch.
