iPhone 13 lineup were finally here, after nearly a year of rumors and leaks. The new iPhones include the base models iPhone 13 and 13 Mini, and the premium ones iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max. There are still no major breakthroughs out there, but some improvements may surprise you, such as the longer battery life.
Apple didn’t give an exact battery capacity, but it said that all the four models have at least 1.5 hours more usage time. You can see more clearly from the chart below from three aspects: video playback, streaming, and audio playback.
iPhone 13 | iPhone 13 Mini | iPhone 13 Pro | iPhone 13 Pro Max | |
Video playback | 19 hrs | 17 hrs | 22 hrs | 28 hrs |
Video playback (streaming) | 15 hrs | 13 hrs | 20 hrs | 25 hrs |
Audio playback | 75 hrs | 55 hrs | 75 hrs | 95 hrs |
Extra battery than predecessor | 2.5 hrs | 1.5 hrs | 1.5 hrs | 2.5 hrs |
Despite faster chip, better cameras and other features, iPhone 13 wins longer battery life propably because some new functions. For example, your phone will automatically shift to LTE when “5G speeds aren’t needed”. And it keeps the refresh rate as high as 120Hz when you play games or videos, and adjust it down to 10Hz when you don’t.
All iPhone 13 models fast charging, with at least a 20W adapter, they can charge up to 50% in around 30 minutes. Wireless charging is available as well. You can use either MagSafe charger at up to 15W, or a Qi-based wireless charger at up to 7.5W.
Since Apple doesn’t ship a charger with the iPhone 13 series, you may want to buy a new block, such as Anker Nano Charger or Spigen Wall Charger.
