Samsung released their latest Galaxy phones, Galaxy S21 lineup. And the top-end Galaxy S21 Ultra supports the company’s S Pen stylus. It isn’t an ordinary stylus. Each generation has been added new function. S pen has been a staple of Samsung Galaxy Note smartphones for years. This is the first time showing on Galaxy S-series.
Does an S Pen stylus come with Galaxy S21 Ultra?
No, it doesn’t. An S Pen designed specifically for the S21 Ultra can be bought for $39.99. Unlike Galaxy Note phones, S21 Ultra doesn’t have a built-in slot for storing the S Pen. Instead, they designed cases with S Pen slots. For me, it’s a good news, which means S21 Ultra doesn’t compromise on its size for the S Pen. And there are two style of cases with S Pen carrying slots optional, silicone cases and flip cover cases with S-View. They cost $69.99 and $89.99 seperately when bundled with the stylus.
And if you already have an S Pen, you can save the money. Any existing S Pen from a Galaxy Note phone or Galaxy Tab tablet can work with Galaxy S21 Ultra. However, some function of S Pen may not work.
What can this magic pen do on Galaxy S21 Ultra?
With an S Pen, you can use your S21 Ultra to draw in your favorite apps, take notes, edit photos, take better screenshots, and sign documents. What’s more, tap and navigate through various menus.
However, without Bluetooth support, the S Pen for S21 Ultra can’t control slideshows or skip songs by flicking the stylus or receive any alerts if you leave it behind.
Samsung announced they will release S Pen Pro later this year which will include Bluetooth features. It can work as Galaxy Note line.
