Apple has released the iPhone of 2019, iPhone 11/ 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max. Although they didn’t pack any eye-catching pioneered feature, the improved camera system and extended battery life will definitely bring buyers a more comfortable user experience. How about IR blaster and NFC? Are they added in as well?
Does iPhone 11/ 11 Pro/ 11 Pro Max have IR blaster?
IR blaster has absent from iPhone all along. And this time, no surprise that iPhone 11 series doesn’t get this function still. The lack of an IR blaster on the iPhone might not be a big deal but that’s because they have never really had one. A phone with IR blaster can be used to control almost every possible electronic device around you. By then, you will realize how handy it is.
Phones featuring IR blaster is more popular in the Asian country. In the US, consumers primarily control their electronic devices using voice assistant or app from their device. To be honest, the voice control is a trending. Maybe one day, everybody can use voice to control their electronic devices. But the upgrading need time to be a reality. Older models don’t support the necessary technology at present, and not everybody can afford every devices with the latest technology in their home. Therefore, the IR blaster is needed by some people at present.
Probably, Apple thinks their customers are capable of using those high-tech devices, no need to have an IR blaster.
Does iPhone 11/ 11 Pro/ 11 Pro Max have NFC?
iPhone 11 line features NFC with reader mode. All modern smartphone now have an NFC controller chip, similar to WiFi and GPS. However, not all NFC is the same. It has several modes of operation: reader/writer, tag emulation and peer-to-peer. NFC with reader mode on iPhone 11 works for Apple Pay and supports for scanning tags (a feature added in iOS 12).
Although iPhone 11 series is not like iPhone 7 series which need a suitable NFC reader app to use NFC on them. Apple still has a long way to go before the iPhone fully accepts everything NFC offers.
