Does the Samsung Note 10, 10 Plus have 5G

Samsung, finally, unveiled its new products, Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10 Plus after several rumors on August 8^th. You may surprise that Samsung has released two different Note models for the first time. To be honest, there are two more models. The launch this time witnessed two sizes, Note 10 and Note 10 Plus, with the option of 5G in some regions, namely, four versions in a sum. The latter one with 5G will firstly be available on Verizon from August 23^rdwith the price of $1,299.

As 5G is touted as a game-changing technology now, Samsung has introduced 5G version for these new phones, although we will see a much more mature 5G technology and its environment in 2020. Unlike market rumors, it not only choose the “high-end machine” but also the rest of models to launch this eye-catching technology. To some extent, that is resulted in the strategy Samsung adopting, winning fast. At present, at least 50% to 60% of the global 5G mobile phone market is occupied by it as its 5G mobile phone is launched fast enough. For users who are going use it, of course, they would choose Samsung.

In the United States, South Korea and other countries that have launched 5G networks, Samsung mobile phones currently maintain leadership in sale. The phone, under the NSA network, needs to connect 4G and 5G networks at the same time, and the power consumption is also higher than that of the SA network. In order to save money, some operators will adopt the NSA mode in the initial stage of 5G network construction, but SA is the future direction of 5G.

At present, Huawei is the only one manufacture offering phones of 5G SA technology. Other 5G products, including ones from One Plus, Xiaomi, Oppo, ZTE and so on. In this way, there is no problem in the use of NSA mode 5G mobile phones. Next year, the 5G mobile phones of SA and NSA dual-mode networks will also support NSA, and the main 5G network construction mode of global major operators this year and next year will be NSA-based.

It is worth noting that Samsung introduced its own Exynos 9825 processor on the eve of Note 10’s debut. Reviewing Samsung’s current 5G mobile phones, we could realize that most of them are equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 with 5G baseband chip X50, or its own 5G baseband chip Exynos Modem 5100 with its new Exynos 9820 or Exynos 9825. But even at the end of the press, Samsung hadn’t announced the target markets or models of each configuration.
