Is Honor 10 Waterproof

Honor is trying to offer smartphones that has everything you would expect from a high-end device at a much lower price than the competition. Honer 10 has a 5.84 -inch screen, 2,280 x 1,080 LCD, delicate notch and color-shifting glass body, which is eyecatching. How about its water resistance level? Can we bring it to pool?

Is Honor 10 Waterproof?

On the official promotional page of Honor 10, there isn’t an exact IP rating announcement. Does lack of waterproof certification really mean that it isn’t waterproof? 

I found out the answer in a Youtube video about Honor 10 waterproof test. First of all, they do the washing test by splashing water over the phone from different angles. Honor 10 works well after that. Then, they immerse Honor 10 in little water and take it out of the water quickly several times. The phone still works well.

In the second level, shower test, they pour plenty of water onto Honor 10 from different sides. Each side should stay under pouring water for 30 seconds. In the test that the SIM card tray faces up, the screen and camera can still work. The loudspeaker facing up, the phone works as well. 

Then, short-time immersion test begins. Once they put the Honor 10 into the water. We can clearly see there are many bubbles coming out from the SIM card tray. It’s obvious that water enters into the phone. Several seconds later, they bring out the phone and remove the SIM card tray to check. They shake out a lot of water.

When finishing the all the test, they tear down the Honor 10 and check inside. There are drops of water everywhere, even on the chip. A lot of water come inside from the charging port. Then, they wrap all the parts in dry tissue and wait for 2 days. They test the functionality of the Honor 10. It works well. 

At the end of the video, they give us a suggestion that if our phone falls into the water accidentally, disassemble it as soon as possible and pack the parts with dry tissue or cloth for days. 

From this video, we know that Honor 10 may only stand water splashing or quick immersion in little water. Do not bring it to pool.
