Why is my Fitbit not working

1. Why doesn’t Fitbit show my heart rate?

Sometimes, your Fitbit tracker may have difficulty of getting a strong signal of your heartbeat. If you don’t see your heart rate on your tracker, you should make sure you wearing it correctly firstly. Try to place the tracker higher on your wrist, because blood flow in your arm increased the farther up you go. Moving your tracker a little bit up may be helpful. You have to make sure your tracker not wearing too tightly as well. If it is too tight, your blood flow will be restricted and the heat rate signal will be potentially affected.

If the steps above cannot let the tracker displaying the right data, try to set your Heart Rate setting from “Auto” to “On”. Then your tracker will be always active, instead of working when you’re moving. Remember that “On” mode increases battery usage, so it’s better to change it back to “Auto” when the signal is strong once again.

2. Why won’t my Fitbit sync?

First of all, make you that you have created a Fitbit account and set up following the manual. Then, the data collected by your Fitbit tracker will be synced when you open the Fitbit app or when you initiate the Sync Now command.

If your tracker doesn’t sync when prompted, do as instruction below. However, please make sure its firmware is up to date.

Check up the following items:

• Your device has been installed supported Fitbit app.
• You have updated the software in your mobile device.
• The Bluetooth setting on your mobile device is on.
• Your mobile device isn’t managing other Bluetooth connections.
• If you use more than one Bluetooth phone, tablet, or computer to sync, make sure the other devices aren’t nearby (or have Bluetooth disabled).

To solve the problem:

• Force quit the Fitbit app.
• Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off and back on.
• Open the Fitbit app.
• If your tracker didn’t sync, reboot your mobile device.
• Open the Fitbit app.
• If your tracker didn’t sync, restart it.
• Open the Fitbit app.
• If your problem hasn’t been solved, contact Customer Support.

3. How to restart my Fitbit tracker?

If your Fitbit is not working, you may think that restarting may fix the problem. However, it can only solve the problems such as:

• Your Fitbit tracker isn’t syncing.
• Your Fitbit tracker isn’t responding to button presses, taps, or swipes.
• Your Fitbit tracker is charged but doesn’t turn on.
• Your Fitbit tracker isn’t tracking your steps or other stats.
