Mother’s Day around the world

 

Mothers Day, that’s a special day in the honor of mothers, though celebrated on different dates around the world.

 

In a large number of countries including US, Mothers Day is celebrated on the second Sunday in the month of May. While, there are different cases. Mothers Day is celebrated in an entirely different time of the year in some countries.

 

But what ever may be the date of Mother’s Day around the world, the spirit is the same everywhere. Mothers are respected for their extreme devotion towards their kids. In New Zealand Mothers Day is celebrated on the second Sunday in the month of May. This is the same day on which US celebrates its Mothers Day.

 

Mothers Day in South Africa

In South Africa, Mothers Day is celebrated on the first Sunday in the month of May. This is a week before US celebrates its Mothers Day on the second Sunday of May.

 

Mothers Day in UK

Mothers Day in UK is celebrated with great excitement and verve but it does not fall on the same date as in US. In UK, Mother’s Day celebrations takes place on the fourth Sunday in the month of Lent.

 

Mothers Day in China

Mother’s Day is becoming more popular in China. People in China accept the holiday without hesitation because it is in line with the country’s traditional ethics – respect for the elderly and filial piety towards parents. And it also celebrates on the second Sunday of May.
