What is an Infrared blaster?

What is an External Infrared blaster?
An external transmitter is an add-on device that connects to your Android smartphone and turns it into a universal remote control. There are two types of external IR blasters, one that plugs into your phone’s 3.5mm audio port, and the other that plugs into your smartphone’s micro-USB port, and only works if your smartphone supports OTG (On-the-Go) efficient.
These external IR blasters consist of an IR LED or IR sensor connected to a 3.5mm audio jack or micro USB port.
However external IR blasters haven’t been that successful, and they don’t work with all smartphones. They require their own special IR Blaster software to work. And the range of these external IR blasters isn’t very good either. I recommend that you don’t buy these external IR blasters as you may be wasting your money.
