Oneplus, after months’ leaks, officially released its new phone in May, Oneplus 7 Pro. From any point of view, this new flagship has become an impressive Android smart-phone across the present market for its special on diverse levels – from the all-screen front to its premium display, pop-out camera, and competitive price.
As Oneplus 7 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S10, the most noticeable Android smart-phone, enjoy various similarities, a great amount of people has compared these two devices. For example, they are both made out of metal and glass, and as a result, they look quite resemble from the front and back. Also, they both offer extremely thin bezels, including “chins” below the display. But today, we will focus on another question:
Which one is faster?
-Performance
When we talk about the speed of these two phones, it’s inevitable to mention the RAM of them. Oneplus 7 Pro is equipped with 6GB, 8GB, and 12GB, while the the other one with 8GB, so the former could score higher on Geekbench. Some people has tested the performance of both devices when they start off the app simultaneously in rudimentary tasks. The Oneplus 7 Pro finished the first round of testing 7 seconds faster than the S10+, a lead that the S10+ simply couldn’t catch up.
-Storage
Besides that, Oneplus 7 Pro uses the UFS 3.0 storage standard, Universal Flash Storage. UFS 3.0 is the version’s latest standard introduced in January last year. It promises an 11.6 Gbit/s data rate per lane, which translates into 1450 MB/s. With UFS 2.1, Samsung S10 could only offers a slightly slower read and write speeds.
-Display
Another key advantage for the Oneplus 7 Pro is its 90Hz refresh rate, which can make the phone feel more responsive, especially when scrolling. The Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus have a 60Hz refresh rate, and that is noticeable when you are using the phone, especially while gaming, though not all games are supported. Nothing gets blurred out or chopped up by missing frames, you just see the content in its entirety scroll across the screen
-Battery
Oneplus 7 Pro includes a 4,000mAh battery pack, while the Galaxy S10 comes with a 3,400mAh battery. This difference is not surprising considering the smaller display of Galaxy S10. What worth-noting is that Oneplus 7 Pro offers much faster charging than the Galaxy S10. The former comes with 30W Warp Charge, while the latter offers 15W Quick Charge 2.0 charging. Of course, the statistics of wired charging.
Conclusion
We are not the only one person who has interests in their speeds. The folks over at PhoneBuff recently pitted the Oneplus 7 Pro against the S10+ in order to see which one is best in class when it comes to outright speed. Their updated smart-phone speed now shows that Oneplus 7 Pro is ranked first, followed by Galaxy S10 Plus and iPhone XS Max. Of course, we’ll presumably have a new speed test competition once Apple launches the iPhone 11 later, and then the list will need upgrading again.
