Huawei P30 has been released for a month, unlike the highlighted P30 Pro, Huawei P30 doesn’t incorporate wireless charging and is only rated IP53 on water and dust resistance, it somehow disappointed many customers since the future is undoubtedly wireless. Not only the customers noticed this, Huawei also realized it’s necessary to add wireless charging to its new flagship, so it officially released the wireless charging case for P30.
By installing a case on and your Huawei P30 is able to support 10W fast wireless charging, even though it’s not as powerful as the P30 Pro’s 15W charging speed, for daily use it’s already quite sufficient. Furthermore, the built-in permeable magnetic material enables your P30 to be easily held by the car mount, if it’s a Qi-compatible wireless charging mount it would be perfect to get recharged on the move tangle-free. Bad news is that the official wireless charging case is still not available to purchase for now, and the color & style is quite limited, only 2 options to select, the design seems quite masculine, personally I don’t think many female users would like it.
Is there any other way to charge Huawei P30 wirelessly? Yes, an easy way is to add a wireless charging receiver into your phone, it’s not only practical for Huawei P30, but also most wireless charging-missing phones, like Huawei Mate 20, iPhone 7 etc. The shortage is that the receiver would occupy the wired charging port, hence if your phone doesn’t have headphone jack and you want to use wired headphone while charging it will be a problem, fortunately Huawei P30 doesn’t have this concern since it has a 3.5mm headphone jack.
If you are not chasing a super cool shooting effect and IP68 waterproof spec, you can save $300 to get a Huawei P30 instead of the Pro line, plus by adding an official case or a receiver you can get the extra wireless charging feature.
