From the perspective of the flagship phone features, Huawei’s P20 Pro was without a shadow of a doubt one of the best smartphones from 2018. To exceed the P20 Pro, the Chinese company need to elevate the standard bar much higher to meet the expectations for its P30 and its variants.
At first, we were not sure whether the Huawei P30 or P30 Pro would support wireless charging, since neither the P20 nor the P20 Pro include wireless charging features. It looks like only the Mate series have special features. We expect that Huawei would feature wireless charging on its P30 Pro, and they did. But, in the same series, the Huawei P30 lacks one lens on its camera setting and also lacks of wireless charging, which is far inferior to the P30 Pro. Though earlier leaks posted true facts that Huawei P30 Pro has passed Malaysia’s SIRIM certification. And the picture post clearly shows that Huawei registered on SIRIM with “VOG-L29”, the code name of Huawei P30 Pro, which confirmed that P30 Pro supports NFC and reverse wireless charging. We’d expect more features on P30, especially when it sells at €799.
Maybe Huawei wants to put their emphasis on the Pro line, to lure more consumers into the stunning camera line-up. But they also gives in at wireless charging for Huawei P30. Yes, they decide not to add wireless charging on P30, but that doesn’t mean you can’t charge the phone wirelessly. There is a wireless charging case made for Huawei P30, so you can charge the phone wirelessly when you use the case. This is a smart move that it turns a non-wireless charging phone into a wireless charging on, and offers decent proetection at the same time. Huawei also has its own wireless charger soon on sale (with no info yet), but we can tell the price wouldn’t be cheap.
