Have you already got a new iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 plus hands-on? Do you want to listen to your music and take calls in your car with your iPhone 7? Let me tell you the most common ways to connect your iPhone 7 to your car stereo, allowing you enjoy music and calls on daily commutes and long road trips!

1. Auxiliary input
Some car has auxiliary input, either 3.5mm or USB. You have to install the auxiliary connection. If it’s USB, it’s easy enough to plug one of the auxiliary cable ends into your car’s auxiliary input jack and the other into your iPhone 7’s the charging interface. If it’s a 3.5mm input, you’ll need a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable and the Lightning to 3.5mm adapter. This is a good way of connecting your iPhone 7 to car, as it ensures no quality is lost.

2. Use Bluetooth
If your car is not outdated, it may be equipped with bluetooth audio streaming capabilities which allow you to connect your iPhone 7 without the hassle of wiring. It was originally intended for hands-free calls, and then, car makers added music streaming to many models. If you turn your iPhone 7’s bluetooth capabilities on, you will be able to pair your device with your vehicle’s factory radio. Simply follow your iPhone 7’s prompts to connect via bluetooth to pair the two systems. This is an easy connection way to your iPhone 7, and may also allow you to play or pause and adjust the volume from controls on the steering wheel or on iPhone7.

3. Apple CarPlay
The ambitious project of APPLE , called CarPlay, implants some of the iPhone 7’s main applications in cars so drivers can control them with voice commands, a touch on the steering wheel or a swipe on a display screen in the dashboard. Apple CarPlay is designed expressly for connecting your iPhone 7 to your car, so it’s no surprise that it’s by far the best choice amongst the methods we’ll discuss. As well as playing your music on the car stereo, you’ll be able to answer calls, check Apple Maps and your Messages. Some latest cars come with CarPlay options, and you can also get it on some car stereos.

4. FM transmitter

You can listen to your iPhone 7 through FM radio. Just pick up an FM transmitter, which produces a short-range FM broadcast that you can tune into on your car stereo. There are different varieties available, but you’ll want one that connects to your iPhone7 via Bluetooth as 3.5mm is a bit annoying due to the extra adapter that you’ll need and the lack of concurrent charging. Remember to disconnect your car’s battery when uninstalling or installing the adapters to your car’s factory radio to ensure everyone’s safety. Working with connecting and plugging in cables while your car battery is running puts you at risk for electric shocks and electrical shorts.
