Did you know that Samsung phones have their own secret vault called Secure Folder? It’s a sort of second space where you can move files or apps from your “main” phone space, or just use it as its own private area.
To set up Secure Folder, go to Settings and scroll down to Biometrics and Security, then scroll down again to find Secure Folder. Simply tap Agree, sign in with your Google or Samsung account and set how you want your secure folder. The Secure Folder app will then appear in your app drawer. Once set up, you can download apps exclusively to the secure folder, since it’s considered a separate space.
It might be a good idea to move all of your banking apps to a secure folder, as this adds an extra layer of security in case your phone is left unattended. You can also use it to store secrets that you would be embarrassing for others to see – like my copy of Candy Crush.

If you keep accidentally moving the carefully arranged icons on your home screen, there’s an easy way to stop that. You can lock the home screen, which means you can’t delete or move any app until you unlock it again.
To do this, open the Home screen settings menu by pinching two fingers on the Home screen and then tap Settings. Now, tap the toggle Lock Home screen layout to activate this feature. If you want to unlock it again, just mark the toggle switch.
If you want to quickly turn on or off your phone without pressing the power button, just double-tap the screen to wake up or turn off your phone. This is especially handy if your hands are wet, or if, like me, you’re too lazy to lift your phone from the nightstand to check your notifications.
To activate it, head to Settings, Advanced Features, then Motions & Gestures. Double-tap the toggle to turn on the screen and Double-tap to turn off the screen to turn them on. You can also toggle the lift to wake, which will turn on the screen when you lift the phone.
