Samsung has just released its brand-new super-duper flagship phone, Galaxy S10 series. One of the new features they boast is the world’s first commercial ultrasonic fingerprint sensor on the display. It allows Samsung to combine the gorgeous all-display screen with a tidy design on the rear and the convenience of fingerprint recognition on the front of the device. However, how about the slightly cheaper version, Galaxy S10E? Can we get a phone with on-screen Ultrasonic Fingerprint scanner and pay less?
Does Samsung Galaxy S10E have an on-screen Ultrasonic Fingerprint sensor?
The Ultrasonic Fingerprint sensor replaces iris scanning as the biometric sensor on the Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus, but Galaxy S10E doesn’t feature with it. Instead, there is a capacitive fingerprint reader embedded in the power button on its side. Although S10E doesn’t have the best in-display fingerprint sensor yet, don’t feel upset. You can own the most powerful functions of S10 series with it and save a lot of money.
Does Samsung Galaxy S10E have Face Unlock?
According to the official specs sheet, All Samsung Galaxy S10 lineup are featured with Face recognition. Therefore, if you struggled with the limited budget, you can still own a Galaxy S10E with Face Unlock.
However, according to a post by mobiFlip.de on Twitter, the German publication shared a video in which the Galaxy S10’s face unlock feature was bypassed using nothing but a photograph. Perhaps in the future Samsung might introduce more robust facial recognition technology, but until then it seems like Apple’s Face ID is still the system to beat.
