The watchOS 5 was just released on Apple’s WWDC 2018 keynote alongside the iOS 12, macOS 10.14 Mojave and tvOS 12. It means that the new Apple Watch may nearly come out, if Apple goes on the traditions, we are likely to see the Watch 4 on September this year with Apple’s iPhone 9 as well. But except to the already unveiled watchOS 5, there is nothing sure about the Apple Watch 4, here gathers some main features we can expect from it.
About watchOS 5
There is no doubt that the Apple Watch 4 will features watchOS 5 which will be available as a free update on this fall after being launched for developers on this June 4. However, for the first time that Apple hasn’t make its software upgrades available for all generations of devices which means you will need an Apple Watch Series 1 and an iPhone 5s or later iPhone to download watchOS 5. Of course, it will give you a lot of health and fitness support again like what Watch 3 provides for you. It also comes with podcast which enables you to bring a favorite playlists on your wrist.
More Considerable Design
The most talked-about feature that would appear on the Apple Watch 4 is a replacement of the older physical button with a solid state button. It means the wearable will rely on a touch surface which not only saves space but also simplifies the waterproofing solutions. With less space requirements, the Apple Watch 4 is expected to come with a 15% larger display comparing to the traditional 38mm or 42mm screen size, this is believed by trusted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
Longer Battery Life
The Apple Watch 4 is expected to be equipped with a higher battery capacity as well. In order to match to the new Fitbit which is claimed to have a powerful battery that can last for over four days; we believe that Apple will make efforts to improve the battery life on Watch 4.
Face ID Camera
As a trending feature on most of new released smartphones, Face ID has been reported to be much more convenient and securer than traditional annoying PIN number. Now from what Apple patents shows, it seems the Apple Watch 4 will bring a Face ID camera which means you can unlock your watch by just looking at it.
More Fitness Features
In addition to track your heart rate, the Apple Watch 4 is expected to able to measure your respiration rate or even more. As it is built waterproof like Apple Watch 3— a favorable feature for athletes and swimmer, it is also able to track your swimming record. Make it more like a health assistant which comes with sensors that can even track blood oxygen levels is what we want to see. If this can’t be brought to life on Apple Watch 4, we hope it can happen in the future upgrading and updating.
