A11 Bionic
The new chip introduced by the iPhone 8 product line, which is with four efficiency cores that are up to 70 percent faster than A10 Fusion. And two performance cores that are up to 25 percent faster. It’s able to power augmented reality apps and games, which sounds really cool. The upgraded chip might be the top reason why iPhone 8 is expensive.

4.7-inch Retina HD display
A Retina HD display that’s more beautiful than ever. Like the iPhone 7, the iPhone 8 also has a 4.7-inch display, which should keep the handset at a manageable size for one-handed use. It’s not the same display however, with Apple upgrading the Retina HD display, which comes with improved color accuracy and a cinema wide color gamut.

Cameras
Apple said that iPhone 8 has the world’s most popular camera. iPhone 8 features a more advanced 12MP camera. With a larger, faster sensor. A new color filter. And optical image stabilization for photos and videos. iPhone 8 has a 12MP rear camera, with a larger sensor that sucks in 83% more light versus the snapper found on the iPhone 7, and a faster response time. Portrait mode is another highlight of iPhone 8 camera, the photos used in the launch event were really close to the studio-taken ones.

Glass body
Glass has finally become the material on the fuselage, moving away from the aluminum used in iPhone 5,5s,6,6s,7 and SE. And the type of glass is similar to the cover of iPhone 4. Glass-body with an aluminum frame design doesn’t disappoint customers, but doesn’t excite them either.

Wireless charging
Apple joined the wireless power alliance(WPC) in February, and had filed dozens of inductions charging patents. Rumors said Apple will use inductive wireless charging (Like Apple Watch) instead of remote wireless charging, which turned to be true eventually. It is not a novelty, Samsung has applied that for several flagship galaxy phones, aside from that we have to pay extra money for the charging pad, it may not be in the list of customers’ long awaiting new features, but it makes iPhone 8 expensive for sure.

Waterproof performance
Rumors said that iPhone 8 may have an IP68 water resistance rating which is better than iPhone 7, however it didn’t reach the level we expected. It remains at IP67 rating, a little bit disappointing as the price goes higher.
