From the table above we can see that the specs of 3 smartphones are all quite impressive, iPhone 7 Plus and Huawei P9 Plus are both sporting dual-lens cameras,  which means gives users a 2X optical zoom, they can zoom in and out of objects up to double the distance without loss of image quality, even simulate shallow depth-of-field. The relatively large sensor and smallish megapixel count yields a big 1.25-micron pixel size of Huawei P9 Plus, meaning the camera will be good in low light too.

For most fashion photographers the bokeh effect is something pretty familiar. It is a technology which can separate the background from the foreground, meaning you can have a clear focus in the foreground, while the background remains blurred. The bokeh effect is a great highlight of iPhone 7 Plus camera, Apple said it has previously only been possible to capture this effect using a DSLR camera. However, the pictures taken with the  “lens blur” effect on the Pixel are outstanding as well, but the size is half of the standard shots, which deteriorates the quality somehow.

With respect to the focus feature, Pixel combines the technology of phase detection and laser-assisted autofocus, which gets more merits in this case. As the 3 famous smartphones’ back camera resolution doesn’t make a big difference, the front camera offers them another chance to fight. For the selfie addicts Pixel and P9 definitely win because of the extra megapixel to be compared with iPhone 7 Plus camera.

Concerning about the part of aperture, no doubt that iPhone 7 Plus wins the game. iPhone 7 Plus camera packs faster f/1.8 rear lenses than the f/2.0 glass on the Pixel and f/2.2 on the P9.

To sum up, there’s no winner here, if you would prefer take sharp photos under low light, Pixel and P9 would be a better choice, if you are eager to be a fashion photographer and chasing for more blurred background , iPhone 7 Plus would do a better job. Of course the price is another point to be considered, as a not-so-new released phone, P9 Plus is way more affordable.
