It’s not at all like the rest

Just along the hot spreading of Ice Bucket Challenge around the world, till now, more and more people have engaged in this activity, also you’ve probably seen a lot of videos through the Internet this week, from super stars to normal people, from the elder to the young. Apparently, it’s just like a popular and interesting event initialized by some organization, taking dumping cold buckets of water on our heads. But I believe we are more than that. Just taking this challenge as an example, when you look it through and search the Internet, you’ll get to know the story or the real event in hide through the video shared, which, to some extent, is really an important reminder for us to get to know what we are doing, not just simply pulling a bucket of cool water on ourselves and make the heart hammered in our throat or just respond to the charity campaign without knowing what the charity is.

From this campaign and the shared video, more and more people have actually gotten to know what the ALS is, a debilitating, really scary disease, which may never have the kind of spotlight again. And it is precisely because we’ve understood and been move, there are so many love donations and emails in Anthony’s fundraiser and inbox and a bunch of major TV shows reaching out to him. Fact acknowledgement and following action are what we have expected at first.

But if so, somehow it is normal. As everything is developing rapidly in our modern life, we have gradually inclined to keep up with the latest trends without further and deep thinking, just like sitting on a spinning horse and perceiving the changing world. And in most cases, we’ve forgotten what on earth we were doing and the reason why we were doing. We should pay more attention on the truth or something behind those things. It’s just not all like the rest. And through Anthony’s video, it is the time to wake up and observe more on ourselves and on our world. If so, we could make much greater difference in our life and in our world.

And at last, I wanna shout out that, all in all, I feel really lucky to be surrounded by such a caring, full of love, good-spirited community of people.
