It happens to everyone. You’re on a 15 hour flight with no source of entertainment except an ipad or a laptop. All of your books are eBooks and then your worst nightmare comes true. Your battery goes dead. This article tells you how to recharge your device!
Try to book a flight with power ports in every seat. Most airlines are making the transition, and they allow easy, hassle-free recharging. Most planes have normal 110v ports, but others have emPower or Car style ports and then require money to buy an adapter from the plane.
Bring a power pack that has one or more USB ports as well as a power port. This means that you can charge 3 or more devices at a time. Be sure to recharge it before you fly.
Go to the galley (preferably at the back of the plane). They are required to have power ports, and the galley attendants may allow you to use them.
If worst comes to worst, wait until people are asleep and then go to the bathrooms. The bathrooms all have 110v power ports. Even if they say ‘shavers only’, they can take other plugs, as long as they fit.
Always take more than one device with you. Divide the content according to battery life, and when one device runs out, switch to the other one, maybe while the other one is charging.
Tips
Book a near-empty flight. This means that you can change seats to one that has a power port, or can charge in the bathrooms with little or no disturbance.
