ADVENTURE Gear’s recommendation

A Power Pack to Rule Them All.

Whether you’re backpacking, traveling, experiencing a power outage or just commuting, a battery pack is crucial for keeping your device recharged and running for the long haul. When I know there’s a chance I won’t be near a power outlet for a while, a battery backup makes it in my gear list, no brainer. There are many, many different models out there, but after quite a bit of research I have found a favorite. My criteria was simple: I wanted as much juice as possible for the least amount of cash, while keeping an eye on size and weight, and of course dependability. This is where I landed.

The EasyAcc 12000mAh Power Bank

Capacity: 12000mAh
Size: 14.2 x 7.3 x 2.3cm
Weight: 320g / 11.2oz
Input: Micro USB (Charger)
Output: 4 USB ports (DC 5V / 0.5A ~ 2.1A)

The EasyAcc 12000mAh Power Bank is as much bang for the buck as I could ask for. Currently selling for only $38 on Amazon, this beast holds 12,000mAh. That’s super cheap, considering it’s big enough to recharge an iPhone 5 (1440mAh) more than 7 times! It also features 4 charging ports, so you can charge a friends device simultaneously, or how about 2 friends plus your phone plus an iPad. Yep, four at once, and it can handle charging almost any mobile phone or tablet, including iPhones and iPads. The battery pack charges with an included micro USB cable, and it has a convenient LED power level indicator next to the on/off button. In addition, there are a few adapters included to convert the micro USB output to alternative ports such as: Samsung 30pin, Mini USB, Nokia DC 2.0 and PSP.

I can’t say enough good things about this charger, especially since the cost is so low compared to similar or even smaller models. Many competitive models are nearly $100! The only downside to a battery pack like this is the weight. The larger the charging capacity, the heavier and bulkier it will be. That’s an inescapable fact, so if you really want to go ultralight maybe look for a 3000mAh, or maybe just don’t get a charger! They’re simply heavy by nature, it’s just one of those things. If you need it, you will make space for it. So if you are serious about keeping your device charged, this is my recommendation.
